Conspiracy Tropes

Goldman Sachs as Financial Cabal

Framing Goldman Sachs as "the enemy" in conspiracies about banker-installed leaders and global government plots.

The Allegation

Farage invoked Goldman Sachs as a symbol of manipulative elites, calling it "the enemy" on Revelation TV (2019) in contexts of plots for global government and banker-installed leaders. Jewish groups criticised this as echoing tropes of Jewish-controlled finance. Farage denies intent, framing it as anti-corporate. The 2023 Coutts dossier noted such associations as risks.

Why This Is Antisemitic

Economic antisemitism dates to medieval Europe, where Jews, barred from guilds, were forced into moneylending, leading to stereotypes as greedy usurers and blood libel accusations. The 19th-century Rothschild myths portrayed Jewish bankers as global manipulators, amplified in "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" (a 1903 forgery alleging Jewish world domination via finance). Nazis weaponised this in propaganda, blaming "Jewish finance" for economic woes. In modern usage, invoking Goldman Sachs (Jewish-founded) in cabals revives these, scapegoating Jews for crises without naming them.
