About Us

Socialists Against Antisemitism (SAASUK) was set up in 2018 by Jews and non-Jews from the left of the Labour Party to identify and reduce antisemitism, especially on the left.

Members include left-wing Zionists, non-Zionists, and anti-Zionists. The group is explicitly able to criticise Israeli government policy and the occupation, while also recognising that antisemitism often disguises itself as anti-Zionism.

The goal is to highlight antisemitism wherever seen, using social media, blog content, campaigning and protest, and engagement with Labour and trade unions.

Our Approach

We believe that antisemitism on the left is a real problem that needs to be addressed honestly and directly. At the same time, we reject the idea that all criticism of Israel is antisemitic.

Our Gallery of Antisemitism provides examples and explanations to help people recognise antisemitic content, even when it is disguised as political commentary.
